wedding planning

Paris, often referred to as the City of Light, holds a special place in our hearts as the City of Love. Its rich history, stunning architecture, haute couture fashion, and exquisite cuisine create an atmosphere that feels perfect for romance. While many dream of getting engaged in Paris, have you ever considered it as the ideal destination for your wedding? The options for venues in this metropolitan city are truly limitless.

Everyone desires their wedding day to be unforgettable and filled with cherished memories. The key to choosing the perfect wedding venue lies in finding a place that combines these cherished memories with convenience. The Grand Controle is one such venue that can fulfill this purpose.

Airelles has opened its seventh property, Airelles Château de Versailles, Le Grand Contrôle, in 2021. With views of the Orangerie, the Palace of Versailles, The Château, Le Grand Contrôle is the first hotel to open within the grounds of the Château de Versailles. Notably, it played host to Madelaine Brockway as part of a grand wedding celebration.

Grand Contrôle- Chateau De Versailles
The Grand Contrôle is housed in a building designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, Louis XIV's favourite architect, in 1681. After been refurbished by architect and interior designer Christophe Tollemer, the property now features 14 rooms and suites, Alain Ducasse's cuisine, a Valmont spa (with an indoor swimming pool), and privileged access to the Château de Versailles.
A variety of French artisans and crafters, notably Vidal-Delagneau, were commissioned to restore and replicate the many historical characteristics, such as parquet floors, textiles, brickwork, and wood panelling. Notable: For each room, Maison Pierre Frey has made historic wall hangings with unique designs from the Château archives. Flowers and butterflies are among the themes emblematic of philosopher Jean-Jacques Rosseau's call for a "return to nature."

Accomodations at the Grand Controle
Each of the 14 rooms and suites is named after a well-known figure associated with Le Grand Contrôle or the Palace of Versailles. Authentic fabrics, chandeliers, artwork, and artifacts, including a love letter from Madame De Stal to her lover Louis, Comte de Narbonne-Lara, are included in each room, which is decorated in an 18th-century style. . Tollemer collaborated closely with Emmanuelle Vidal-Delagneau, a specialist in French heritage and art, in selecting authentic paintings and antiques from the 17th and 18th centuries.
